Enrollment links: What they are and how they work
When you accept your ICHRA benefits, you'll still need to shop for a qualifying individual health plan. Enrollment links tell the portal where to send you to shop, based on your state.
Depending on your state, that may be:
- A HealthSherpa shopping link (often tied to your employer's agency agent ID)
- A state-based marketplace (for example, Covered California or Pennie)
- Another carrier or enrollment URL your employer's agency uses in that state
Who sets this up?
Your employer's admin configures the enrollment link for your state directly in the StretchDollar dashboard, so the right shopping link appears automatically when you start your enrollment. You don't need to do anything to set this up — it should just work when you begin shopping.
FAQ
What if I don't see a link for my state?
You may be shown a default shopping path instead. If that doesn't look right, reach out to your employer or your admin so they can add a link for your state.
Do links update automatically?
No — your employer's agency is responsible for keeping them current. If a link looks outdated or broken, let your employer know.
Is this the same as being invited to enroll?
No. Being invited to start your benefits setup is a separate step handled by your employer. Enrollment links are what you use after you've started your benefits setup, to shop for a plan in your state.
